From October 17 to 19, world leading aging experts, representatives of Chinese corporations and Chinese ministries gathered at the Global Summit on Population Aging in Shanghai. The main goal of the conference – co-hosted by Columbia University and Fudan University – was to analyze the characteristics, challenges and opportunities of China’s fast aging population in the context of international experience and to share new knowledge and best practice among scientists, policy makers and industry. Public Talk in Braunschweig
Upon the invitation of Braunschweig Zukunft GmbH and the Technical University Braunschweig (Germany) Ursula Staudinger held a public talk on demographic change and the potential of older employees on 15 September, 2015. In her keynote, she focused on the opportunities and challenges of an aging workforce for companies, highlighting that cognitive performance can be improved even in old age. “The aging of our parents and grandparents as well as our own ageing is not the same as the aging of our children. Human development changes within the biological boundaries of the lives we live and the social context,” she said in her speech. Read more
